About
Amber Delaney Diagnostics
Amber Delaney Diagnostics is dedicated to empowering young people to achieve their potential. My aim is to add to academic success; add to personal growth and add to confidence by providing personalised and effective solutions to meet the unique needs of each young person. I specialise in using comprehensive assessment to identify strengths and create individualised learning programmes for young people to reach their goals. For Primary and Secondary, my session services encompass entrance exam preparation (including 11+); English language to prepare for GCSE; study skills building for university; learning specialist sessions for dyslexia; coaching for ADHD and mentoring for emotional literacy. I have 30 years teaching experience working with high-achieving young people in prestigious schools and advisory for the local authority. My priority is keeping the individual's well-being and confidence at heart-centre as I support young people through their educational journey. Alongside my teaching and academic qualifications, I am registered with the British Dyslexia Association as a qualified diagnostic assessor of dyslexia (AMBDA).

Assessment
At Amber Delaney Diagnostics, expert assessments are offered from Primary to University to gain valuable insights into individual learning styles, needs, abilities, and potential areas of development. Parents are reassured that all tests are approved and testing is conducted by an assessor holding a specialist, registered qualification. Test areas include standardised cognitive (psychometrics); standardised attainment tests and standardised ADHD screening (Qb Check). Through assessing, potential access arrangements for exams are identified, alongside valuable recommendations and signposting to help guide parents in their decision-making.

ADHD Coaching
Amber Delaney Diagnostics offers sessions focussing on Executive Functioning coaching. With or without a diagnosis of ADHD, attention and focus-based evaluations identify specific challenges. Coaching sessions develop strategies to support individuals in achieving their educational potential. Standardised screening is also available (see assessment section).

11+ Educational Preparation
I understand the importance of educational preparation for the different stages of a young person's journey, especially their transition to a new school (7+, 8+, 11+, 13+) and external exams (GCSE). I offer expertise to help students in mainstream independent and state schools to excel in their academic pursuits and build their confidence. My specialist areas include: English language, comprehension, grammar and essay writing, study skills and performance analysis.

Specialist Learning Sessions
With my specialised knowledge, experience and approved qualification in specific learning differences (SpLD, Dyslexia), I provide dedicated sessions to individuals who benefit from expert support with literacy, language and communication, fine motor, focus and information processing. I ensure that young people, with or without a diagnosis, such as dyslexia, receive the specialist, multisensory and metacognitive approaches they need to thrive not just in educational settings, but gaining skills for life.

Performance Assessment
Parents may feel the benefit of having a more detailed insight into their child's performance than can be provided by their school's feedback. Comprehensive performance assessments, conducted by a qualified assessor, provide an informal report with standardised data to evaluate academic progress, identify strengths, and address areas that may require additional support. It also facilitates progress tracking as a base-line for future assessments. As an authorised specialist, my data and results can be shared by parents with schools if they choose to do so.

Child and Adolescent Mentoring
I offer individualised mentoring programmes that use approaches that compliment approved therapeutic strategies. Emotional literacy is explored and addressed to support young people in areas such as worries, anxiety and emotional regulation. I have a Masters in Psychology and a Masters in Specific Learning Differences (SpLD, Dyslexia) which both involve the most current neuroscientific, cognitive and psychotherapeutic research. I have a qualification in psychotherapy counselling.
